Lasker

Hello all

I wanted to let you know that my mother Lorraine Lasker, who last posted to you prior to her surgery on December 11, is doing really really well.

She came home to our apartment on Roosevelt Island after a week in the hospital which was relatively uneventful.

Since coming home the visiting nurse has been coming as well as a physical therapist who makes sure she does her exercises! Things are definitely looking up because I think she is already getting pretty bored of hanging out in the comfy recliner and being cooked for by me!

There have been loads of beautiful flowers, lots of phone calls and visitors too which make the days enjoyable.

I am sure that she will be back on line to tell you the details in the new year.

Best,

Johanna Lasker

What wonderful news about your mom. So happy to hear it. Congratulations all around.

It sounds like you've been taking superb care of her.

Thank you Johanna for letting us know how your mom is doing. I will be waiting to hear the details when she is up to it. I'm glad she is doing so well!

Thanks, Johanna

Lorraine.....so glad you're doing so well. It's time to get yourself out of that apartment and start walking outside. RI is a great place to do some walking. So glad you did so well!!! When springtime comes and you get out to the eastern end of LI, you'd better look us up.

Johanna, I was really pleased to see your post. I had been wondering about your mom since her last post on Dec. 9.
I am looking forward to seeing her own posts here soon.
Hers was one of the stories I followed with particular interest because she & I are in the same "age group," and as she once said, so many of the valve replacement folks here are so much younger!
Give her my love & tell her to please put in ALL the details--for the benefit of those of us still here in the waiting room (like me).
Hugs,
Marge

Hey Johanna,
Thanks for letting us know how your mom is doing. You all are still in my thoughts and prayers.
Take Care and Happy New Year!

Dave

Johanna:

Sounds like your mom is coming along fine and at a very relaxed pace. Staying with family immediately after leaving the hospital was a big boon.
Will look forward to having her back online soon.
