Hi All,

Since my valve has been diagnosed as heading south I've noticed increased body odor. Some nights I come home from work, lift my arm and think the stench would stop a herd of stampeding elephants! Not real nice. Initially, I thought it may be related to my heart having to work harder at the moment, but my pulse seems to be the same as it always has been (between 48 - 60) so I'm thinking this is not the case. Have others experienced this?

Phil,

I haven't experienced this directly, but I did notice a related issue that may apply. Prior to my surgery, whenever I exercised I sweated literally buckets. When I would finish my jog, I could actually take off my shirt and wring visible water out of it. Since my valve replacement, I don't sweat as much. The condition you are noticing could be a less extreme version of mine. I believe that prior to surgery, my whole cardio-vascular system had to work very hard to exercise, hence the heavy perspiration. Since surgery, things seem to be moving back toward the more normal levels.

Hi Steve,

I reckon my issue may be similar. I'll have to wait and see if it changes post operation and in the meatime shower lots.
Take care and thanks for responding.
Cheers.

Phil.
