After my first surgery, my chest always ached badly with wet weather and high humidity. Until now, almost two years post op my second surgery, I have been more comfortable than after the first but the last few months I've noticed more discomfort. My DH and I walked early today and I stuggled keeping up a little on our usual course because I felt achy. Sure enough, a few hours later, it started to rain so I have to think there's a connection.

Anyone else have weather related aches in their chest two and more years post op? My second surgery was four years after the first.

Not in my chest, but in my knees. Just above the knees it aches about 12 hours before it rains.
In fact my neighbors call me to know how my knees are if they are planning on doing any painting outside.

I'm a better weatherman than the NWS.

I know all about the aches and pains during the wet and cold. I had my quint bypass more than 4 years out and I go from a pain level of 4-5 normal, all the way up to 7-8. On cold wet days I may wind up in my recliner for 3-4 days. My wife just me bought a new vibrator/heated recliner. I check into the hospital at 9am this coming Tuesday for the cath and then for the CABG and A-Valve replacement. Right now North Jackson County is under a Dense Fog alert at 8:30 pm. It cold and wet so I'm aching purty good. What works for me is to keep my chest warm, without getting the rest too hot. So I'm in my heated recliner, heat on low, wearing a hoodie with the hood up. But I'm barefoot and wearing gym shorts. This lets the rest of me stay comfortable. I forgot to look where you are so maybe you wont know about these. But when I'm hurting the most I take 2 BC or Goodies powders to start then I go to the one every 4 hours. They work great for me. I told my wife to stock up. Hope this helps a little. Rick

Posted without reading it to wife, she says I only take BC, the Goodies have tylenol and I can't take them because they are watching liver function.

I can always tell when the weather is going to change. My chest hurts and my left knee replacement hurts. I think I'm better than the weatherman! !:D

See, Glenda, you SHOULD be a weather woman! You'd be able to tell those computer models a thing or two ;). he he

As of late, I've noticed aches and pains during rainy or snowy periods ... but I also think it is partly me wishing it was always sunny ... lol

Yes, here too. My sternum ached from oncoming rainy weather until about two or three years ago. It felt "creaky" to me for a couple or more years post-op too, when I would lift heavy things. Probably my imagination. But not the rain.

Oh yes my friend! Whenever the weather is humid, cold, rainy, I will without a doubt have a dull ache in my sterum. Having it cracked open 3-times, it's a bit more pronounced!

But then, I also have an ache in my elbow, my bum knee,...........:p
