Hi everyone,
I just finished talking to Dr. Bradley (surgeon) and it looks like he is putting me back on the surgery list. He talked with another Dr. that works with him and they want to do a MRI to see if the sac around my heart is hard and then do surgery. He said that after talking with this other surgeon that valve should be replace but he still doesn't know if it will solve all my problems. which I went from little to no hope sat. to a it might help. I hate this. I have had three different surgeons like at my test results with none of them could give me a postive answer. I know that no Dr. will say this will fix the problem because they need to cover their butts incase it doesn't work. I am trying to look at this from both sides maybe that's what is giving me a headache :( Any words of wisdom?

I had a feeling you would end up getting your surgery after all... Don't ask me why, but I had that feeling. Now, they may not be able to say that it will make you 100% better, and it may be that the sac around your heart is also causing you problems (which maybe they can do something about that while they are at it???), but surely they wouldn't do the surgery if it wasn't going to be helpful in the long run, right? I knew that when I had my surgery it wasn't going to make me feel fabulously different afterwards, but I knew it would prolong the life of my heart, and that is certainly a plus in my book! You have to realize that the valve may not be ALL of your problem, but it must be SOME of it if they think it needs fixing.

Good luck and rest easy!

I took you off the calendar. What date are we going for now?

Stacey no one can tell you if your going to feel better or not. We all go in hoping for the best possible outcome and some of us do not get better, but end up in worse shape. I'm speaking of myself here, which is why I tell you not to rush the decisions any.
