Nathan has been on Zetia for many weeks (have not cholsterol drawn yet), and we would like to add Omega vitamins to the plan. I have researched it here on this site, but it has not been talked about much since 2003. We do NOT eat fish, but we are going to try and start salmon once weekly as well...eventually. Would like to know what you guys have tried and found sucessful. It appears that it can raise the INR too, did anyone note this?

Should we try capsule or oil? Flaxseed? Also read back that Flaxseed should not be taken at the same time as warfarin. What brand? Do make a difference in the triglycerides, Nathan will need 1000 mgm? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Carlson Fish Oil.

Carlson Fish Oil.

I've been taking Carlson Fish Oil for years (liquid)
http://www.vitaminlady.com/carlson_labs/liquid_omega_3.asp
and adjust my Coumadin around my diet and supplements. It is imperative to maintain a healthy diet in order to feel good.
Carlson Fish Oil is the clearest, purest liquid fish oil with just a hint of lemon.
My husband and I also eat quite a bit of fish. We love wild salmon and try to buy the smoked wild salmon often. Out of this world, that's how good this tastes. Try it and you'll know what I mean. Make sure it is WILD SALMON, NOT FARM RAISED.
I have consumed Organic Flax Oil (Trader Darwin's Organic Flax Oil with Lignans) for years as well and take it with foods like salad dressings, yoghurt, oatmeal.
Right now you can buy the Carlson Fish oil by the case (500 ml) and the price goes down to $28.48. Normally you pay $35.60 a bottle.
For the rest we have gone to buying all ORGANIC fruits and vegetables. We only buy grass fed beef which is not injected with hormones and antibiotics and organic chickens the same. We buy a lot of lamb because most of the lamb comes from new Zealand and they don't inject the animals with hormones and antibiotics.
Yes, it is a bit more expensive but worth the money. It tastes so much better especially the fruits and vegetables.
Hope this helps.
