Greetings Throwdowners ... I’m pleased to report that my weight is down 4.5 pounds this week and that I’m in the black for the race:thumbup: ... if I could have talked the scales into another half pound I would be back to the same weight that I was the morning I left for vacation ... Low carb seems to be working well for me ... I do have my moments when a cookie, brownie, cone or milk shake try to snatch me from the jaws of victory but I pause, say a little prayer and move on ...

I think the short races (sprints) seem to suit me better, how about you? ... If so, what should the next sprint be? ... I was thinking maybe a sprint to the Throwdown Anniversary which I think is September ... If anyone wants to research when we started this crazy group I will be glad to endorse the date as the official founding of our merry band of losers...:biggrin2:

I'm up a pound since the last time I weighed in. That puts me down 2 for the RWB race, but I'll work on getting a little more off before next week.

Regarding the founding date . . . I will try to find it before next week.

Starting RWB weight: 151.5
This week: 149.5
Race Stats: -2
 
If this race started Memorial day, I'm in exactly the same spot: 139.2
If it started St. Pat's day, I'm....sortof in the same spot, 'cause I don't have that wt on my calendar - somewhere between 138.6 and 140.1

I'm getting nowhere.
 
Here's my oker's Throwdown report!

My weight scale has been a little brat and not wanting to work. This morning it decided to, but only after I had a couple days of eating more that I would prior to weighing. This morning I was at 185 even, which is 8.6 down for the RWD.

Wow Duffey, losing two pounds this week is great.

Laurie, you do seem to be able to keep your weight from spiraling upward, but I do understand the frustration.

I pulled the plug on my Facebook account because I have been spending too much time there when I should be practicing my Spanish. I am making good progress and decided if I'm going to this, I'd better stay focussed.
 
Wise, you have done wonderfully well throughout this race. Even a little spat with your scales has not caused you to lose your edge.:wink2:

I know you will master the Spanish language! Quit Facebook if you must but don't forget to hang here.:smile2:

I'm will not forget the Throwdown. Is that even possible? Of course, Facebook is always there if and when I decide to return. If I log back in, everything is restored to its former status update...hehe.
 
I'm 1/2 pound below my pre-cruise weight! Low carb is slow but working ... now I just need to get back walking but not when it's 100+ outside!!!!!!

I agree. Walking in this weather is a no no. I see a lot of people still running in it and I think they're pushing it.

Slow but steady is certainly the best to way to lose weight and keep it off, of course. As long as we're headed in the right direction, that's all that matters. Sounds like you're doing very well.
 
I'll check in from time to time, but I may not be here as often as in the past, because I am in the process of starting some time-consuming ventures (a blog, for example)....

Wishing all of yawl continued success . You have all done far better than I have with this continuing battle.

I don't know that I'd say we've done better. I think we have taken turns at doing better. ; )

I wish you all the best with your new endeavors. I know that your blog will certainly be interesting and well written!

Don't forget to stop in though, especially since I'm not stopping in at Facebook.
 
Boy!!! This hot as “he-double toothpick” weather is getting old :mad2:... think I might head to the coast this week and check out the scenery:wink2: .... Low carb still working but I sure would love a cone or a milk shake ... DW has been cooking fruit deserts with Splenda and so far that has calmed the sugar beast in me ...

I'm sitting at the dining room table drinking my Starbuck's coffee with Splenda and rice milk, eating my oatmeal with Splenda and a little butter, and getting ready to study for my 10 o'clock Spanish class. I have started to exercise some, which is an important step for me. Have eaten moderately this week. However, my weight scale is balking about weighing me again. I put a new battery in the stubborn thing not long ago. I'm sure I've lost a little since Sunday, but won't know for sure until I have a cooperating scale.
