Oh Happy Day, Part I is that dark chocolate reduces blood pressure (see Nancy's post under Heart Talk :) ),

Oh Happy Day, Part II is that I am makin' plans to go back to Boulder. :D :D The whole weepy episode made me realize that I need - and am just about ready - to get my life back. Or at least be back in my home town, near stores, etc.

And. . .it just so happens the VR.com reunion and my friend in Milwaukee are on the way back to Boulder. :) :) The working plan is to fly into Milwaukee, visit, drop down for a couple of VR.com events, and then mosey on back to Boulder in time to dog sit for my very favorite dog - a cute Australian shepherd named Yuki. :D

Getting into planning mode has done a BUNCH to lift my spirits. Sitting still, while good for recovery, doesn't do a whole lot else for me. :p I am TOTALLY psyched to be back with friends and start getting into the groove again. The welcome back party is already in the works. . . :D :D

Other wonderful things about being back in Boulder? I can start cardiac rehab and can get back to my local doctors (and insurance system!). Just wanted to celebrate with y'all. .

Oh Happy Day. . . :D :D

While I'm happy for you, I'm sad too. I won't get to meet you in person and you were oh so close. Well at least I got to talk to you on the phone, however brief. :( :)

That is great news Melissa! I am so happy for you. You sound psyched for sure!! I am just very glad that your surgery went so well and your recovery is moving along just as it should!

Even if we don't get to meet up when you get back to Colorado in the two weeks before my surgery the first of November, I hope you can come visit me in Estes Park post surgery. I will need the company and the encouragement. You are so positive and have such a great sense of humor - I will need that!! :)

Chris

Yippee! Got your PM before coming here to read the post. Your really on the road to recovery. In a literal sense:D

Have a safe trip home. Sure hope you can pop in for a visit at the reunion!! We will be waiting for you with open arms.

Since yourself and Betty are so fresh out of surgery. Please let us know if there is anything you need to make your stay more comfortable. Think I told Betty we could start with a nice large pile of fluffy Sheraton pillows;) :D

Hey Melissa,
You sound so good. Glad to hear the weepies are behind you. It is a stage I think we all went through.

I hope you get to make it to the reunion. I look forward to meeting you and everyone else there. Have a safe trip.
Have A Great Week!

Dave

When you're ready, you're ready. You're a high energy gal, and the worst is over, so, onward and upward.

It'll be great for you to get back into the groove.

Enjoy!

hi melissa!
sounds like you are in full control of your recovery and life here.....no, really, i am looking forward to meeting you at the reunion. what days do you think you will be there?
have a safe trip and we look forward to seeing you!
be well, sylvia

Hey Sylvia,

Not quite sure how everything will work out with the reunion - my friends are driving me down from Milwaukee - but hope to make the Friday night dinner at the minimum.

See you there!

Melissa

Melissa - you just cleared up a question for me. I kept reading your posts about the hurricane and it heading for Pa - but your avatar says Co. I was saying "hunh?" Now I got it. There's no place like home, is there.

Melissa,

Really try to make it to the reunion if you can OK? I am so looking forward to meeting some of the people who now have a place in my heart.

Gina, your offer is so sweet for extra pillows and if they could add a couple to the bed it really would be nice. Thanks so much.

Going Home

Going Home

Melissa:

Won't it be nice to get home! You sound so healthy and so strong, like you haven't had heart surgery. I hope for these results for me, too, Mayo Clinic is a long way from home in Alaska. Am really wondering how the after surgery care will work out? Sounds like you are doing great.

Keep up the good work.
