Just wanted you all to know that I won't be posting for a few days starting on Monday. My endoscopy is scheduled for next Thursday. I start the Heparin drip on Monday. I hate thinking of sitting in the hospital but hate the side effects of the Lovenox more. I guess I'm just one of the few people who can't tolerate Lovenox as well as most. I'm much more concerned about getting a good report from the endoscopy though. I know they will be stretching the stricture in my esophagus and looking for any Barrett's. Hopefully, they won't find any. I guess I'm just a little apprehensive since my uncle died from esophageal cancer. You know how a mind can race to the worst case scenario.:( Anyway, I'm going to find some good books to take to the hospital with me. Oh, by the way, the insurance company decided to cover my stay as "being admitted to observation". They said it is basically the same as being an inpatient but that I don't require the level of care of most patients since all I will be doing is sitting there with an IV in my arm. She said that my care would be the same as an inpatient really. The only difference is on paper. Anybody heard of that? It's been a while since I've been in the hospital so what do I know?! I'll post when I get home. LINDA

Wishing you all good results and easy time of it. You will be in our prayers.

Good luck LInda. I hope you have a good report. My insurance does cover admission for observation to do the heparin and for the INR to reach 2.0. I always know I will be in for 5-7 days. My hospital does have high speed in the rooms and you just plug your laptop in and away you go. I don't have one but each of my daughters do and they graciously bring me one to pass the time. During the heparin IV times the doctor gave the ok for the monitor to be removed once a day so I could push my pole outside and sit in the sun. That saved me. I felt free and could visit the McDonalds with my grandgirls. I took sweatpants and tops that I could put the telemetry box in and no one could tell I was the patient other than the IV pole. AGain best wishes. Kathleen

Linda - I'm sadly familiar with Barrett's and I too hope they don't find it. Hope all goes well for you. Take care.

Linda, I'll be thinking about you and including you in my prayers. I hate being in the hospital and know how you feel. I hope all goes well with your tests and that you will soon be home and posting again.

Linda,

GOOD LUCK!

Thoughts/prayers coming your way....
