I went to my regular 6 month cardiologist appointment. He said I was doing so well that I could stop taking digoxin! He also switched me from sotalol to metoprolol, as I am planning to get pregnant and it has been studied more in pregnant women. He also said that I should be able to get off the metoprolol eventually as well! So now I'm down to a low dose aspirin and one prescription, as well as a pre-natal vitamin. I can handle that!

He told me that I shouldn't have any additional risks that any other 38 year old woman would have, so go forth and have that baby! YEAH!

I'm very happy about these developments! :D

I tried to quit digoxin cold turkey, and it didn't work so well. Consider coming off it slowly, such as a half-pill a few days.

I second Jim's recommendation.

You may also want to consurt with your Pharmacist about the best way to come off Digoxin.

My Cardio recommended taking Half a Dose for 2 weeks, then half again for another 2 weeks when coming off another Beta Blocker.
