All of the people that I have come in contact with at the Cleveland Clinic have been incredible. Their level of concern for not just the patient, but the patient's family as well has been remarkable. Because I really didn't know much about nurse practitioners before I arrived here, I thought I would post a little about their involvement in the recovery procery process.

My hopes for any of you going through any type of surgery or procedure would be that you are followed daily by a nurse practitioner. They were so involved in every aspect of my recovery being a good one that I'm not at all sure that I would be feeling as good today, which is just 6 days after surgery, without their help.

So, Chris M. .... this is for you! You and Kim were SO wonderful!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

By the way folks, he said he was going to check out Valvereplacement.com and reccommend it to patients. :)

Wishing you as good a recovery as possible.

We deal with several NPs and they are all wonderful. They have extensive knowledge and much clinical practice.

I agree 100% Arlene--Dr Lytle's and the cardiologist's NP's were both great resources. There was also an NP that I saw while in ICU but I don't really remember her name.....Plus it was nice to see Mary (the cardiologist's NP) when I had to come back up after surgery and get readmitted. I think it helped that she had seen me in the hospital and knew how I was when I left vs when I came back. The follow up in hospital there is a little strange, I don't know about y ou but I never actually saw Dr Griffin, my cardiologist, while I was hospitalized. But it's like what we have at our hospital, where the inpatients see whoever is "on" this month.
Glad you had such a good experience, Arlene. It is a wonderful place to have surgery! Well worth the inconvenience of not being at home.
