Does anyone else have random skin numbness? If I rub my arms or legs, it feels like parts are numb or am I nuts?

I am not post op yet...my avr is April 20th....but is your skin numbness superfical or does it seem deeper? Is it on one side or both??? any rash or pain or itching.... How about how you are feeling??? Do you have good pulses in your extremities??? like your groin or foot?? It could be almost anything or perhaps...nothing. But if it keeps up, I would get it checked out this week. I am not doc but I would find out for piece of mind.
Good luck.

My leg was numb for a while from the groin incision and my chest had some numb spots but I can't recall my arms having any numbness. I did have tons of nerve pain in my back and neck though from the position in surgery that sometimes still pops up, maybe it's related.

I had numbness which I assumed was from cut nerves in spots around my abdomen which have partially repaired themselves nearly two years later, and some up around my clavicle where there is a puffy spot that was never there before the surgery. I showed that to the cardio, the surgeon, a surgical resident and my family doctor and they all said, "huh, never seen that before!" Could be anything but definitely ask if you are at all concerned.

I think it is normal. Sometimes, it could be due to certain medication. If you are quite bothered by it, it will be wise to ask your doctor's opinion on the phone to have peace of mind. Also, others may chip in with better advice.

Are you walking daily as supposed to. If not, you need to increase your pace and your steps gradually.

Keep us posted.

Have you had your thyroid checked? Since it doesn't sound like your numbness is from surgery (like a numb leg from where they might have connected the bypass machine) since it is in a few different places and doesn't sound like a deep numbness, (like where your leg tingles or falls asleep type feeling, but just the skin.
It sounds alot like the numbness I get where if you lightly scratch the area you don't feel it, but can feel below the skin..(its hard to explain, but it is a completely different feeling than the numbness tingling I get in my legs and feet from a bad back) anyway I get that in different parts, usually my face and they pretty much decided mine was related to my thyroid problems..which makes sense in my case because thinking back it started the same time other hypothyroid symptons started.

I may be completely wrong, but It might be something to ask your doctor about.
