Normal leaking?

Is there such a thing as a "normal" amount of leakage around the sew ring of a mechanical valve (St. Jude's - 15 yrs. post op), especially if the valve was sewn into a portion of scar tissue resulting from previous MVR?

I'd just be guessing, but I think they would more likely classify it as Trace or Mild. I think the desired norm is to have no leaking. "Normal" would mean that it is a regular occurance and I don't think it is, if done correctly.
