Non-valve related Coumadin cessation question

My mother takes Coumadin because she has A-Fib. The cardio took her off of Coumadin today since she's having a heart cath on Thursday.

My question is, since she isn't a valve patient and doesn't take Coumadin for that reason, is the cessation of Coumadin for three days less of an issue regarding stroke risk?

I asked the cardiologist and he said that stopping the Coumadin will not pose a stroke risk for my mother unless she is in A-Fib.

If she's still in Afib, the risk is very real and present. If not, it's not a big deal at the moment.
