I must admit that in the beginning of post-surgery, I was having a lot of problems. I was getting bad rashes, diarrhea, and overall not good. Since getting off all of the other drugs, I feel great. The Lipitor has been making my body ache, head hurt, hungry and tired. I faxed my PCP today telling him I refuse to take Lipitor or any other statin. The main thing I'd like to say that is I am not getting the ill effects I was getting earlier. I'm not sure where the rashes were coming from, but I feel great. So far, I only have good news to report from taking the rat poison. Oh yeah, and I just purchased 3 bags of Dry Split Peas which doesn't affect INR too much. Yeah!
thanks for all the support.

Regular peas are fine also. Again, Dose the diet you eat, don't diet the dose your on.

Witzkey,I'm sure it won't be long before you take the plunge and eat more greens as part of a sensible daily meal.
I understand your hesitation, I have a super sensitive system and react badly to almost every drug. Coumadin does not cause me any bad reactions at all.
Now if I could only get off of that crappy Metoprolol....LOL

When I started on warfarin, I was soooooooooo concerned about those foods that could cause a drop in my INR.
I asked whether broccoli was in vegetable medleys. I asked the servers to peel cucumbers in my salads. I limited my intake of dark greens to just once a day. I avoided sushi, because the nori is heavy into vitamin K. I, etc., etc.

I finally decided I would just live my life like it was before my surgery.

By overfocusing on lists of foods, it's easy to develop a "patient-victim" mentality. We shouldn't forget that we need to stay on top of our health, but we should not be VICTIMS of it. :)

How about this, I will shoot anyone that doesn't eat their green veggies!

I eat spinich, broccoli, cucumbers, kale, green beans, peas, heck every green thing I can find.
