We are tired!!!!!

I'll ditto those comments. Just don't turn Northwest please. We are grandbaby sitting in Brunswick, Georgia, just North of Jacksonville, FL. Local reports say we should see hard rain and low winds by Saturday. Uck!!!!

May God Bless,

Danny

Nate is also still out there..... just hangin around.

Ophelia will maybe stay over yonder.

We just quit bring our stuff in/out of the house and mostly just leave it inside. Think about how much stuff you have in your yard and having to bring ALL your outside stuff inside. First, where will you put it all? Second, it's hard work doing it this often. Third......

Yaps, it's pretty cool (sixtyish) in the mornings and if it stays cool, it should keep them at bay. They hate cool. Pray for cool. It's sposed to stay this way for about a week. Might be enough.

Dogwoods are one shade lighter so that means autumn has made step one towards us.

WE are so dry around here that we could use a LITTLE tropical depression around here for the rain. Nothing more though. I'm hoping for a few fizzles with the remainder of the storms this year.

Are you still babysitting in Brunswick, Ga.,,,Getting any win/rain? Bonnie

Cheer up. September 10th is the historical peak day of the hurricane season. I understand there are only 6 more names left. I guess that means no more storms. Isn't that how it works?

Regarding taking your lawn stuff in and out. My wife has stopped putting the ornaments back out. Seems to create more storms. She did have a great idea for stopping water at doors. Instead of sandbags, she bought 40 pound bags of topsoil. After hurricane season (can't be soon enough), she'll put the topsoil all over the yard.

topsoil! We never thought of that. I'll pass that on to daughter. She does yard things when she has time and uses that stuff. And fertilizer, too, should work.

When I was going to school, we got storms in September because I recall school closing - 100 yrs ago in Miami. Hope they just stay out there in the Atlantic. We watch the weather always in winter to see if it's going to be cold but not so much in summer. This year, tho, we've kept a weather eye/ear out on the TV - every day. When a clue of a tropical depression is broadcast, everybody passes it around - like they/we are the only ones who saw it. Funny!

Still here. We plan on heading back home to West Georgia sometime Sunday. This wasn't the trip we originally planned. Got a call Thursday of last week that our Son-in-law's dad was in the hospital and was not given much hope. They were discussing going up or waiting. My wife and daughter were insisting they go now. Anyway, we worked out that we would babysit while they both flew up to Connecticut to be with his dad. They made it before he passed away Saturday night. He was buried Wednesday and they will be back here Friday (storm willing).

Today was beautiful here. Sun was shining all day and just light winds. Latest show Ophelia wandering around just off Jacksonville, doing a loop Monday or Tuesday, then who knows????? Guess this one will be President Bush's fault too. :D :D :D

Of course, we were in St Augustine, FL Labor Day Week-end and left there coming here Monday. Heard on the news that some streets and areas were flooded Tuesday due to the rain from Ophelia. Yaps, I'm not planning on any trips to the Mobile, AL area anytime soon. Maybe you will be safe then :D :D .

Guess we will brace for the next one. I can't wait until we get back to West Georgia where we only worry about thunderstorms, lightning and tornados   . Don't have to worry about flooding as our house sits on a hill and if we ever flood you had better start looking for an Ark  :D .

May God Bless,

Danny
