I was in the garden a while ago, and along came this tiny little hummingbird, not much bigger than a bee. It was maroon and taupe striped with a pretty little tail, and flitted from flower to flower.

That and the rainbow the other day, when the grannies were here, made the world beautiful.

How many rainbows do we see in our lifetime, or hummingbirds, for that matter.

Just got to appreciate these beautiful things. :)

Oh, I bet that was a sight to behold. Keep that picture in your mind for a rainy day.

We had a lot of hummingbirds at our home in California. I really miss them. There was a large blooming shrub next to our deck and the birds nested there. We also had a feeder for them so they came right up to the deck - got used to us being there.

Never saw one as small as the one you described. I bet it was a delight. Love the rainbows too and they are too rare. But, then, I guess that is why they are so special.

I love hummingbirds especially when one buzzes right up to me when I'm working outside. They seem utterly fearless. As for rainbows, I don't see enough of them so I have to savor the sight when I do.

I love those little hovercrafts. I've tried to get them to feed here, but they just aren't abundant in this area. I'm lucky to see one per season. I have seen quite a few rainbows though.
