I went for a colonoscopy today. The prep yesterday was pain in the ....:D Today was a breeze. Got an IV, laid there for a while, got meds in my IV, woke up and it was all done. They told me to go get a "light meal".Sure...!!!! I was starving! My friend and I stopped at IHOP and I pigged out on scrambled eggs and pancakes...had not eaten anything that tasted that good in a long time. It tasted ALMOST as good as that first glass of ice water after my OHS.:)
Then I came home and went to bed with a book. I slept the rest of the afternoon. I probably won't sleep tonight now. I was told not to drive until tomorrow because of the sedation.
They found one small polyp, about 2 mm, which they removed. They will send it to the lab and let me know the results. Hopefully, it is nothing.

Praline, I'm glad that your test was not too difficult.
I had one about 18 yrs ago and it was not fun..I was NOT knocked out and remember yelling a bit.
When it was over, I thought I could go back to my desk job....well, I think I made about 4 trips to the bathroom before I gave up and went home.
Don't you worry about that little polyp, I'm sure it is nothing at all.

What kind of prep did they have you do. I had Miralax/Gatorade. Effective, I'll give it that!

glad to hear that you made it through the colonoscopy unscathed. :) My husband just had his first colonoscopy at age 56 (I have been harping on him for months to get it done) and had 1 very small polyp also that was snipped. It came back from the lab as being potentially cancerous with time, but not the worst kind - they had 3 different categories for polyps, i.e. benign, potentially cancerous and high likelihood for becoming cancer. I had a colonoscopy 3 years ago and had no polyps. Colonoscopies are one of the best things that we can do for ourselves. Glad you had it done and glad all is okay! Wayne was told many, many people have polyps in their colons.

P.S. Wayne hated the prep also - he kept coming into the living room the night of the prep and kept asking,"When will things start to move? - nothing is happening yet" - then BAM!! Hee. When he went to get the prep liquid from the pharmacist, the pharmacist said, "Here's your medicine and you know I've heard it's a real blast!" Our pharmacist is a stand-up comic - who knew?! lol
