Hellooooooo lovely ladies and gentlemen!! I had mitral valve replacement surgery 8 weeks ago (man, it's hard to believe that it was only 8 weeks ago) and I am well and truly on the road back to being even better than my former self before all this drama.

So, here is a picture of the top of my 6 inch scar at 7 weeks (taken last week) in black and white looking all emo and arty and awesome.

Yeah, it seems pretty ok most of the time but it, and the scars from where the tubes were itch a lot. Also it is uncomfortable sometimes when I straighten up after having been hunched over for a while. Guess all that stuff my mother said about posture wasn't just a load of nagging!

Yeah, try not to hunch over, if you can. I found I had that pulling sensation when I stood up or stretched after hunching, too. It lasted 3 months!

I was itchy too where the tubes were.Dont know why the incision didnt? Your looking good.

My whole body's been unusually itchy since my OHS, 9 weeks now. I'm trying not to scratch too much or too hard -- and to avoid making "big ape noises" when I do it! Ooh-Ooh-Ooh!!! (It's very hard to spell the sound made by inhaling and exhaling back and forth in a hurry! :) )

nORM, at about four months out I was so itchy I wanted to peel the skin off my arms and legs went to a dermatologist got some useless creams then into the heart function clinic and got IV lasix for fluid retention........THAT gave some imediate relief and a twenty pound weight drop within a couple of weeks

but today with the mid winter thaw and real weather related pressure front movements my zipper is driving me nuts (wife says it's a short drive cuz I am already around the bend) temp is upposed to drop from plus 4C to minus 12C in the next few hours
