Pfizer said it received new information last night about two cancer trails about the cardiovascular safety of Celebrex. The other one "revealed no greater cardiovascular risk than placebo."

Celebrex is approved for use in U.S> for the treatment of arthritis and pain. Pfizer has stood by the safety of its use since the Vioxx recall.

"These clinical trial results are new. The cardiovascular findings in one of the studies (APC) are unexpected and not consistent with the reported findings in the second study," the company said in a statement. "Pfizer is taking immediate steps to fully understand the results and rapidly communicate new information to regulators, physicians and patients around the world."

You told us on 9/30 about Vioxx and I said then 'can Celebrex' be far behind. Then I just gave up Celebrex - but no news about it came along, so I finally filled my rx YESTERDAY! because I think it does help more than over the counter stuff and because it does help my ails. I take the 400mg sort once a day or as needed - try not to take them every day.

On Nov 5, Bryan told us Celebrex was suspect and by golly here it is all over the news today. I feel pretty sure they will pull it off the market. We paid 'em plenty of $, didn't we? Now they tell us it can kill us. They won't mind being sued because they have made so much $. Go figure.

Damn...Celebrex is the one thing the doc prescribed that helped with the heel spur and I've been able to resume running. Back to the drawing board...
