A woman WALKED into my clinic this afternoon. She looked very pale and was gasping for air. I slapped the pulse ox on her -- 49% with a heart rate of 153. Needless to say she did not get a fingerstick but a very fast wheelchair trip to the ER. Turns out that she had left home with an empty tank on. The ER got her up to 98% with a new tank and sent her home within about 2 hours. Heart rate down to about 100.

The hospital did that to me. I had to go to the crapper and they sent me in there with an empty tank. I was going nuts within minutes trying to breath and it seemed like an eternity until they found another tank and hooked it up.
That ain't funny!

I'm surprised that lady was still conscience.
