We have been searching for a new pet in all the shelters within 75 miles of where we live. We went to our local one and none caught our eye so tomorrow we are going to shelters in other areas. Been on the internet under saveapet.com and that has been very helpful. We lost our other right before Thanksgiving and we both feel that we should get another. Want a beagle mix. These pets sure do grow on you. I have a question for all you intelligent people with pets, If a puppy has parvo and is treated, will he be okay down the line? I researched Parvo on the internet but still was a little confused as to the outlook if treated. Any help would be appreciated. :D

Marcia: I think, if they survive, the recovery can be good, although the possibility of health problems down the road.

Years ago, I had babysat a kitten that had parvo and my two adult cats contracted it. It was touch and go with them (the kitten died) and, until the day they left me for the great big cat scratcher in the sky, they both had chronic upper respiratory issues. Our vet said that surviving the parvo had weakened their lungs and that, on top of the fact that they were very large cats, made them more susceptible.
