OOPS - I mean InRatio!

It came today. I just finished trying it out - easy to use just like you said it would be. I love the size (very small) and hard case great for travel.

My level was 3.0 today - yay! Wednesday I go into the dr office to test, I will take mine as well and compare the Coagucheck they have with mine.

Good deal ...keep us posted if there is a variance...as I understand it one must deduct .6 from the reading the Inratio gives.

I'm still not in range as mine was 2.9 last friday minus .6 = 2.3 and I'm taking 75mgs per week... It is very frustrating.

Deuce the .6 variation may or may not be true. I guess what I'm saying is that we shouldn't consider it definate, though that is my experience with it. We more or less have to test against our labs and note the differences so that we know how to adjust.

2.9?

2.9?

2.9 sounds good to me!

My personal preference is to keep it above 3.0 no matter what, and preferably closer to 4.0.

This is because I know exactly how my body reacts to my ever changing diet and I have maintained an INR in that range for 7 years without any adverse effects.

I would rather be on the lookout for adverse effects (usually reversible)from having my INR too high than being surprised with a clot (usually not reversible) after it it was too late.

Not a professional opinion of course, just the opinion of someone who has been on coumadin since April of 1999 and has been home testing since 2000.
