Hi Gang,

Well, today I had my first visit with my new Cardiolgist, and I have to say, that I really feel confident with this Dr. He took the time to answer ALL my questions that I had about my CHF and my Valve Issues, and my PH. Here is the interpretation that I received

1. I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (Stiff Heart is Developing)
2. Right now, with my CPAP, my Pulmonary Hypertension is under control, which means it's down from 45 (Pulmonary Artery Pressure) to 15 thanks to the CPAP machine
3. My Mitral Valve which had gone from Trace to Mild, is now back to trace.
4. My Tricuspid Valve has gone from Trace To Mild, and even though my Aortic Valve has some calcification, it, along with my Pulmonary Valve are operating at the Trace To Mild Stage.

5. Dr. Morford is worried about my Hypertension and how the Diabetes is affecting the heart, but will be checking me every 6 months.

6. I DO in fact have a Murmur

Overall, I am satisfied, although I still have a question, that I can't seem to get answered due to either my lack of communication or it's something that no one's heard of, so here goes....

I am still having increased SOB and ALOT of Chest Pain and Pressure, and Dr. Morford said that it's from being overweight, but I have read that with valve disease that even at mild stages, one can be symptomatic and eventually need a repair/or replacement due to the symptoms being so bothersome that it becomes unbearable, but I am wondering, is this something that I should mention to Dr. Morford, or is it something that you would just keep to yourself and wait and see what happens? I know this is alot to take in, but I am worried about a misdiagnosis due to the fact that I have had alot of symptoms, and I just don't want something major to happen before things get fixed.....Any Ideas? Suggestions??? Thanks Much....Harrybaby:D   :D

Pretty good report and I'm glad you are happy with the new cardio. You seem to have a good rapport with him, so by all means, express your fears and ask away, Harry!

Harry,
I'm glad you have a cardiologist that is listening to your concerns!:) :)
Your valves sound like they're are working just like they are designed to, so I wouldn't worry about them.
Did you tell Dr. Morford you were SOB?
Did he advise you to try to lose weight?
I know it's almost impossible for you to get much exercise due to your arthritis, so maybe your cardiovascular system is "out of shape" since you can't give it a steady workout?
I would just take things easy and see if your symptoms decrease with time.
When do you see him again?
Take care, and congratulations on the good news!

The report sounds good to me and it seems like your happy with your Card. That is very important. Of course you should express any of your concerns with him.

Harry, don't keep any concerns you have from your doctor. Sometimes the things we don't say could be the key to something important. You already know that, I know you do.

Glad you are so far satisfied. Blessins, my dear.

So glad you found a doctor that looks like he'll work out! Congratulations.

Very great report

Very great report

Harry! I'm so glad for you - that you have gotten a great heart report and have found a wonderful cardiologist.

I wonder if the love you have for your beautiful niece has had anything to do with all of this. :)

Blessings -

Christina L

Good for you. Having a cardiologist your comfortable with is certainly important. I agree though, share your concerns with him. It is hard to guess how a doctor will respond, this one sounds hopeful. Being taken seriously is one aspect of being a good doctor, IMHO.
