I've decided to humorously chronicle the wait for my PVR on blogspot. Here is the address to my blog:

I'm trying to remain somewhat anonymous, so have created the ficticious name. Read it if you want, and if you do, be sure to check out the Polly PI link on the page (my best friend from high school - I'm Olga on her site). Thanks for reading my blog! I'll try to update it every day.

Enjoyed your blog & bookmarked it.

Needlephobia: I had it until I was 53 - that was when I had ohs. I fainted at every hypo and blood draw - even through cancer & chemo. But ohs defeated the phobia and I can now proudly go get my blood drawn while sitting up (for phobics, you know what an accomplishment this is); and I can get a shot while standing!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't obsess on the needle in the neck - it's done after they put you out. And it's the least of your worries post-ohs.

Make everyone aware that you're phobic; really carry on; then they're happy to put you under before they "do" anything.

Really like your blog

What a great idea. I really enjoyed reading it. Will look forward to more entries. Must say that I did have the lines in my neck but did not feel them and they were out before I knew what was happening. They have to be pulled before leaving ICU. That is one thing I advise you don't worry about.
Needle sticks are not fun but after heart surgery they should seem really minor to you.
Keep writing. I will keep reading.

I second the neck line.. I never even knew it was there, until they told me it had to come out?? and it didn't hurt:)
Actually the bruises on my forearms from the blood gases ( I don't remember them) are still with me 4 weeks post op!
the blog is a fun idea.. keep on posting!
