It is addicting- I find myself checking it almost as frequently as I check my email, but the advice and support is priceless! :)

No kidding! I'm looking for a 12 step program for valve replacement websites. :)

Yep - I'm with Karlynn, looking for VR.com rehab. ;) ;) ;)

Not really - this is an addiction I can live with, enjoy, share with my S/O and others, and not get arrested for pushing.

You will probably find a time when you take a few days off but that doesn't come for awhile (if at all).

Welcome, you new junkie, you.

I got addicted years ago - it just doesn't quit. It's like sittin down with your cronies every day and catching up.

It's informational, fun, supportive, fun, interesting, fun, sad sometimes, fun, uplifting, and we need to keep up on what Ross is doing so we can keep him straight so he won't smite us..........

Welcome to our site, and you're right: it is addicting. I've been on since the beginning and have always felt a kinship with the others on this board. It's even neater when you can attend a reunion and actually put names with faces. You may want to consider that sometime. Again, welcome, and glad you found this special little haven of ours. :) :)

Besides the big Annual Reunion, we Midwesterners have gathered together a few times a year in the Chicago area. Since you hail from Wisconsin, that might be something to think about when the next one rolls around.

Addiction

Addiction

my name is Jan and I am very happy to be addicted to VR

I also echo what Sherry said, attend a reunion and you will be forever addicted,

Seriously though, finding VR was the best thing I ever found on the net

Thanks Hank for setting it all up

Luv

Jan

I am also a VR junkie!!

I just wish that there was a reunion in Ohio!! Last I heard Ohio was the state with the most VR members! We aren't able to go to reunions far away but we would love to meet other members.

Glad to have you join the group!!

I think the best thing about this place is I feel like I really belong or something...do you guys ever feel like your the only ones out there with a heart condition...I don't know anyone else that has been through what I have been through or even has any idea what the heck I'm talking about...but NOW I DO...I guess now I just don't feel as alone ;)

I had that feeling for over 11 years, then I found VR. I was having chronically low INR's and couldn't figure out why (until I took a closer look at my protein bars and saw they had 33% of the RDA of K) A post on WebMD gave a link to a post about INR on this site called valvereplacement.com. It had never occured to me to search the internet for others with valve replacements. I figured we were few and far between. After all, I live in the Chicago area, you'd think I would have run into someone during those 11 years.

The knowledge that someone else really understands is priceless. We are connected through our hearts.

PS - what an adorable avatar!

I couldn't agree more!! I've already been through three mitral valve replacements, but now I have you lot to help me through my fourth. Addicted!?? Are you nuts??LOL! I just can't stay away from the place and whenever I've had to send my computer to get fixed, I've had withdrawal symptoms!! I just LOOOOOOOOOVE being here!!!!!!!!!!

Forgive my boldness, but I would be dead if it weren't for the VR.com community of compassion, knowledge and humor. The past two years of my life -- and today's an anniversary in part because my son is two -- were full of misdiagnoses, pats on the back and finally, answers and treatment that's working.

Thanks, Hank. Thanks, Ross. Thank YOU everyone esle.

xo,

Yes,(putting my hand up) I admit that I am an addict too!!
When I check my e-mails, I check VR.com too.
The only problem is that we would have to win Lotto to get across to one of your reunions, all the way from NZ !!

We are really grateful to have the support, the kindness, info, from this site.

Thankyou Hank,Ross & members.
Best Wishes
Ernie & Wendy
