Hi Chris-
I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. It's pretty tough when things seem to happen back to back. Joe's had those times in his medical history. It can be overwhelming.
When I was working and had my own business, I used to work on enormous projects, and did them all by myself. The only way I could accomplish the task was to take one small portion, solve that then the next and so on, until the whole project was finally done.
It was a good lesson really for many things in life. Looking at the whole project, I would be overwhelmed, and thought I would never get out of that hole. But once I started on a part of it and finished that and continued on in that vein, the project became smaller and smaller, and easier to handle.
Sit down and have a chat with yourself, and figure out the most important thing to accomplish that would give you the most relief. Is your doctor's unresponsiveness the most troubling? Then seek another opinion with someone who is sympathetic to your problems and would give you long term good care.
Or is the most important thing to work on your immediate medical problem, the chest cold with the achey feelings? Then you would not have the time to find someone new right now, but will have to keep calling the present doctor until you get some help.
Or maybe you are feeling depressed and that is the most troubling thing right now in your life. If that is the case, discuss it with your doctor. Depression is extremely common with heart patients. Medication can help tremendously. It takes a little time to work, but when it does, those sad feelings will lift.
Only you will be able to figure out which area of your life you want to work on first. Take that little step, get help for that, get it under control, then go on to the next area and get that under control, and so on.
Eventually the large problems will become smaller and smaller.
I wish you all the best, Chris. Things will get better. Sometimes, you have to take control of the monster and make it behave.
