I know this is gonna be a long story, here goes, I had my bicuspid valve replaced 2008 bovine 28 years old, should of got an on x but guess it was meant to be because I developed something called cholesteatoma, they have to drill through the mastoid bone to get it out, we'll they dug around in there for 9 hours, it was as big as a golf ball and not round, it was all over, it is a very chronic condition it ate 2 hearing bones. I guess it is kinda like a cancer but doesn't metastasis so that was 2014, had to stay in the hospital overnight because the oxygen levels were low. My neurologist says I have low reserve. So in 2015 it came back just a small amount growing on the dura, but growing. OK so oxygen again but didn't stay maybe because surgery was only 3 and a 1/2 hours this time. So they drill through your skull, dig around in your head, so there is the risk of bleeding. So go back Sept 2016 of course it is back on the right side and they also found another one on the left so 2 more plus surgeries for that also deviated septum and gallstones need to be done, a lot. So now the valve is really calcified, cardiologist says open heart surgery, at first he said tavr then changed his mind but says tissue valve because of possible bleeding in skull based surgeries, so when getting the heart cath, the interventional cardiologist says why would you open up the chest to put in another tissue valve which could only last maybe a year beyond the tavr, I think it makes sense because I will probably need another ohs in the future so why not do the tavr just to get through the surgeries that need done, once finished, I may be able to get the on x next time. Just so confused, sorry this is so long. Any input appreciated. That's why I was looking for Coryp cuz he seemed to be going through the same thing. Thanks.
