Hey Al,
I in a pickle again. I am now on my second pcp in 2 months. I was supposed to have a myelogram this thur. and the surgeon cansel it because he didn't know what to do about the INR problem and I am allergic to the dye they used for the test so I have to be premedicated for the test. The cardiologist told the PCP to bridge me to the heparin because of my history of strokes and blood clots. Neither the PCP or neursergeon have a clue how to handle this. So Al, which DR. should have this knowledge of the what to do. This whole thing has me stressed to the max. They have set the test for next thur. but if they can't get thur. Sh***** together for the first one what makes me think they can do this for the second one. When I have had an abess tooth removed the Dr. that was taking care of the INR was the one that admitted me to the hosp. for the heparin bridge. I don't know if she d has the knowledge or if she just doesn't wanted to be bother with it. She still hasn't sent the script to QAS services so I can get supplies for my machine. I've call and left several messages and no ones bother to call back,. I sure know how to pick the winners!!!!!!!! I am almost ready to go back to my old Dr. he wasn't as bad as the last two I've had to deal with. I know the insurance co. probably thinks I am crazy. Well, today I had a complete melt down after the surgeon office called me to call the PCP to get this mess straight. But I finally took a stand a told her that the two Dr's should be talking to each other and to leave me out of it. Till they were ready to give advice about what to do before the test. What would you do? I talked to my daughter the RN and she said I have to stop letting theses people get to me . But I told her it was easy for her to say! She is a type A personalty like me.Thanks for letting me vent. I this keeps up I will big a patient at the local phy. ward.

The doctors don't get paid for the time that they spend getting you ready for the procedure so the more that they can get you to do and the more that they can pass the buck to the other doctors then the less time they spend doing it and the more money they can make doing something else. I wish I had an easy answer, but I doi not.

Thanks Al,
I think I already knew the answer. But there has to be a Dr. out there that cares more than the price of the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I just haven't found one yet. And I have got advice from others patients and friends but I have till came up empty. But like my grandmother said, what doesn't kill you will make you stronger.

Well,
I got a call from both Dr's today and they still do not have a clue on how to do it. They said that the neurlogist wanted my INR to 1.0 for the test. But the Dr. Rn told me he said last week it should been under 2.0. That is what they wanted for the epidural for the back pain. I have head three of them and two heart cath, and abess tooth and never had this much trouble. But I was dealing with different Dr's at that time. If I wasn't in so much pain right now I would cansel the whole thing. If this is causing this much trouble for the test what is going to happen when they do the surgery. I am really a little scared to but my lifew in theses crazy Dr's hands. I told my husband if anything happens to make sure he gets a good lawyer. I just hope it not the death of me though! No one seems to know what the heparin bridge means.

Everyone's most fervent wish should always be that nobody use the words "interesting case" in conjunction with their name.

Hey Al,
I went to have my PT checked today it has been a week and it went from 1.2 to 3.4. I am suppoosed to have that test next thur. and she told me to stop taking the warfin as of today. Nothing but lovenox shots twice a day till the test. What I need to know is this enough to keep me from having a stroke or clot till after the test. I am still having second thoughts. D** if you d** if you don't.

Hey Al,
I was so stressed I called my cardiologist office and talk to his RN and she said, that it would be o.k. to do this way. So next wed. when I go in they will put on heprin till right befor the test. i will the pre-meds for the allergic reaction to the dye at midnight and some more right before the test. Going through all this just for the test I hate to see what iI will have to do for the surgery. This has ben a real pain in the butt. Thanks for your help and being here so I can vent! I may be able to get a little sleep tonight.

It sounds like you finally have the doctors communicating and that they are on the right track.
