Aloha,
I have a friend that I found out did this type of massage and has eased the chest pain for me, dramatically. Basically it's ironing out the chest muscles and releasing all that constant tightness that hobbled me. A slight constant pressure applied from my sternum (as close as I am comfortable with) and moving outward as the tensed muscles relax(?) On one 3" section took 30 minutes this is a slow process! Am I suggesting this for everyone, no just telling you my experience.

Is this a real massage that you can ask for? And how long should you wait until getting it?

Myofascial massage

Aloha,
I wouldn't know if any insurance company pays for this, I pay out of my pocket. I just happened to find out she did medical massage and got into this, that way, and was very skeptical.
Google this topic and read up if your interested, I'm sure these is someone in your area that does this?
Also, for Hawaii there is only one, private, cardiac rehab place to go here, none of the hospitals offer anything even though the AMA and NIH recommend it. There's federal law that goes into effect Jan 10 that mandates cardiac rehab so we may change there.
I have been out of shape for 2 years because of the agent orange leukemia BS and found out about the bad valve trying to exercise. Now this, so I'm hell bent on getting healthy...rehab first, physical therapy after, then a vacation somewhere, but couldn't shed the chest pain I thought was internal. Is it all gone? NO, but I get a couple more appointments next week and I dropped all the pain meds so to me it's moving on fast. Christmas in Paris, London, or maybe only Vegas, it don't matter.

Danny ~~ I had a shoulder massage a few days after being home and it greatly relieved all the shoulder/back pain.

Also Bob, this is great news.."Also, for Hawaii there is only one, private, cardiac rehab place to go here, none of the hospitals offer anything even though the AMA and NIH recommend it. There's federal law that goes into effect Jan 10 that mandates cardiac rehab so we may change there."

Enjoy your holiday away wherever you go..!

I had this Myofascial massage done about 6 weeks after surgery. OMG, its amazing and so relaxing. Not painful at all like a true massage, no little or big fingers drilling into your shoulders and or other places to work out those tight and knotted muscles.

If you can get it, get it done.
