Well my wife was released today and is now in much better spirits as we just gave her a bath. I told her that maybe it was not her foot that was hurting so much as the funk from being in the hospital for 4 1/2 days. She didn't find this funny...When ever she complains I have jokingly replied "jeeez Debi, its not like you had heart surgery..". She does not seem to find the humor in that either...Hmmmm, wonder why?

She won't be able to put any wieght on her foot for 6 weeks so she is going to take some more time off from work. Thank goodness she has some sick time and vacation left. Her boss is very sympathetic to our situation and has encouraged her not to come back till after the holidays. My wife and I are just hoping we won't have to get a divorce after spending three weeks couped up in this house together...LOL I guess I better be nice to Debi since she has taken care of me for the last few weeks and never complained once.

My boys don't know what to think any more. This morning my 4 year old asked if he could stay home from school and I told him he needed to go to school because I had to go to the doctor (cardiac rehab) and then go see mommy. By the way my mom and inlaws have been so great helping to cart me around as I still haven't been cleared to drive. Anyway, Hunter gets this terrified look on his face and asks me "Daddy are you going to have to stay in the hospital?". Broke my heart... I think that he is worried that whenever we leave him, we won't come home for a few days. It makes me so sad to see him like this. Both of the boys are really excited that we are both home again.

Well take care everyone.

Rick

Rick,

With your family reunited again things should start falling into place pretty quickly. Regardless of the circumstances, you and Debbie enjoy your time together. This is the stuff of which memories are made..............and sometimes babies too! ;)

If you two are anything like my mom and dad were, you better sleep in separate rooms, eat at different times, and just stay clear of each other for a while. ;)

I'm glad to hear that your wife is home again. It's got to be a stressful situation, two people recovering at the same time, one who can't drive and one who can't walk, and both in pain.

My heart goes out to you both. Keep your spirits up.

Take care,

Great news! Kind of bizarre tho - let's see, 4.5 days for a foot, or 4.5 days for OHS. Amazing.

My wife is less than amused when I point out (with humor) my surgery, as in (lifting shirt to show scar) "Did I mention I just had heart surgery". But, because she loves me, she still laughs.
