Tomorrow is my turn. I am actually much calmer than I thought I would be. I have all three of my children here. One lives in Nashville and made the trip to be here. We're all going to dinner tonight. All I've had today is protein shakes. Not really hungry.:D

So any last words of advice?
Thanks

Earline

Earline,
I'll keep you in my prayers tonight! Enjoy your evening w/your friends & family. Look at tomorrow as your chance to getting your health back & starting to enjoy life again. Please let someone post for you. We'll be thinking of you. Best wishes! :)

Enjoy your children and the kids and you will be back amongst them before you know it. Godspeed!

Yes,
eat a great dinner . . . you won't have much of an appetite for awhile, so enjoy your food and the company!
Everything's going to be fine, and you'll be back with us shortly to tell us all about it!

My thought will be with you on your journey over the mountain tomorrow. Best wishes for a successful surgery and smooth, uneventful, recovery. I look forward to your update from the other side of the mountain.

At school we have a moment of silence every morning. Tomorrow I will send a prayer for you at that time. I went to church this morning for mass and I did pray for you.
I will look for a post as soon as I get home from work tomorrow. You will be just fine.
Have a good time tonight and enjoy for dinner,..the hospital food will probably not be the tastiest. I could not wait to get home and eat some "real food".

I second the advice of eating a good dinner....I thought it would be best to eat a light dinner since I had such a major surgery the next morning...big mistake since I couldn't eat for 2 days following surgery.....absolutely nothing tasted good...I had a had time swallowing from the breathing tube I guess....and I had the most horrible heart burn! So, with that said, enjoy a good dinner as it will help you with the energy stores you wil be tapping into post-op...and of course enjoy your family and take time to laugh! We had so much fun the night before surgery...that's part of the reason I was so upset I had to be admitted the night before because we were all having so much fun!
I'll be praying for you...please have someone let us know how you are doing.

Try and get some sleep tonight...it will be your last full nights sleep for a while!!

Marie,

Best wishes for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery. Stay strong. We'll be looking for you on the other side of the mountain.

Good luck, not that you need it...

On the meal front i'll give you a contradicting opinion to the ones above, eat a light meal tonight, enjoy the company and have fun.....whereas you won't be eating much for a couple of days, you won't be pooping either so whatever you eat will be sitting there until you start moving again....if thats a 24oz steak you won't enjoy its exit

But, as a wise man once said, opinions are like bum holes....everyone has one and no-one really wants to know about someone elses...:D

In a weeks time you will be wondering what all the fuss was about....

My pre-op instructions from the hospital actually suggested I eat a light meal, and then nothing after 9:00pm. They also gave me a suppository to use in the evening before bed to "clean me out"....I was quite thankful I had a light meal. ;)

Earline,

GOOD LUCK tomorrow ... thoughts/prayers coming your way for a SUCCESSFUL surgery :).

And ... that child of yours that lives in Nashville ... is one lucky person!!!!!!!! I love that city ;).
