Well, I had my newest fashion statement installed on Tuesday. My heart rate has come up to normal levels. It was down to 28 bpm when I was in the hospital. I can't tell how I feel yet, since I feel like I got beaten up; I'm sore all over. The EP gave me an antibiotic to take for 5 days and it has given me the trots so I'm going to quit it. That was making me feel worse than the pacer. Anyway, thought you'd like to know. It has been so frustrating going through the cycles of feeling great and then terrible. I now have a word for it, sick sinus. I guess the MRSA infection as well as being on the heart-lung machine too long the first time left some damage. I just hope this will give me a few years of good health before I need a new adjustment.

Barbara:

Glad you've gotten something done for feeling so rotten. Hope you'll be feeling much better in another week or two, after you've gotten over the ordeal of "installation." ;)

Keep us posted on your recovery.

28 bpm, no wonder you were feeling so bad. Now with your little electronic buddy, you'll be more perky.

Joe had MRSA after his klebsiella pneumonia. It packed a whollop. He's still on antibiotics for it. He has diarrhea too, but in his case, he just has to put up with it. He is taking acidophilous, two pills three times per day. They were really afraid of endocarditis, and he cannot have any more surgeries. Nor could he have a TEE to see if there was any heart damage.

Three more days of the antibiotics. Then I hope all returns to normal.

Thanks for the replies. Sue, do you really think I should continue taking the antibiotics? I had the MRSA summer, '05 and was on intravenous antibios for 6-8 (I can't exactly remember) weeks. Nancy, is that why they are so cautious with infection with me? Does the infection lie dormant?
You've given me something to think about?

I wouldn't fool around with it, it's too risky. Maybe you should finish up the antibiotics. Ask your doctor about taking acidophilous tablets. You can get them in the health food section of the market or health food store.

Joe was on Vancomycin IV and Rifampin pills. The Vanco is finished. He still has a couple of the Rifampin left.

This combo was decided upon because he cannot take cephalosporins or cephazolins such as penicillin type things.

And he was on a whopping dose of both.

Barbara, my cousin is disabled and ill a lot. His dr often rxes antibiotics and it does the same to him but she (his dr) is adamant about him continuing them. If you are concerned call the dr.

Glad to know your heartbeat is up to normal - the rest of you will be, too, soon. Blessins......
