A good friend of mine who lives in Albuquerque had never seen the Cabezon wilderness, about 25 miles from our house. We spent the morning and early afternoon driving our quads through scenery like this. By the way, for those concerned about the environment, I agree with you. Our quads stick to dirt roads only, and do not carve up the very beauty we went to see.

notice the 'age' lines from bottom to top, going round it. that reminds us of how awesome it is and wonder what went on before today. thank you, Dennis, for sharing.

This is a picture of Cabezon peak. I am told that Cabezon is Spanish for "big head". This area is more influenced by the Navajo than the Jemez or Zia Pueblos. Navajo legend describes this peak as the head of a slain giant.

We didn't see any wildlife on this trip, but the Cabezon wilderness is home to mountain lions, bear and some very large elk. The Cabezon is only 25 miles from our home, but the landscape is dramatically different.

Wow stunning views, i have only ever seen anything like this on tv, thanks for sharing.
