It's been 19 months since I had a litter of kittens -- 5/6/03, about 6 weeks before my surgery. Looking after those 4 little kittens was pretty hard, so I let my other Abyssinian females "rest" while I fully recovered.
A friend in California wanted to co-own one of my girls, so I took Annie out to CA last October. She came home this October, bred.
Two ruddy (re: dark reddish-brown) female kittens arrived a week ago. Mom has a problem with mammary ducts, so I'm having to hand-feed babies. I think this is God's way of paying me back for my not having children of my own ... getting up several times in the night is murder!!
The kittens are doing great. They come to work with me. I bring homemade formula, nursing tube, etc., and take a couple of "feeding" breaks.
One girl has learned how to do baby-purrs -- sounds just like my heart valve!
