It's been 19 months since I had a litter of kittens -- 5/6/03, about 6 weeks before my surgery. Looking after those 4 little kittens was pretty hard, so I let my other Abyssinian females "rest" while I fully recovered.
A friend in California wanted to co-own one of my girls, so I took Annie out to CA last October. She came home this October, bred.
Two ruddy (re: dark reddish-brown) female kittens arrived a week ago. Mom has a problem with mammary ducts, so I'm having to hand-feed babies. I think this is God's way of paying me back for my not having children of my own ... getting up several times in the night is murder!!

The kittens are doing great. They come to work with me. I bring homemade formula, nursing tube, etc., and take a couple of "feeding" breaks.

One girl has learned how to do baby-purrs -- sounds just like my heart valve!

I love em little like that. My babies aren't babies anymore. Well......they are in a sense, but you know what I mean. :(

Ross:

Cats are always babies! We have a shaved-down black Persian spay that sleeps with us who thinks she's still a baby -- at almost 11YO.

Today these kids are trying to open their "peepers," as my husband says.

Oh no, I can't look! last time I looked at kittens, I ended up with TWO! They are so lovely and you will have such fun with them. They look like twins except one is smaller than the other one. Names? Congratulations.

Marsha,
How cute they are. I sure miss having kittens. I just fell in love with an Egyptian Mau kitten at the Dayton show and am considering adding to my group.
I showed one of my cats in Dayton and it did not go well. However, the other is getting quickly into condition so you may see both of us in Columbus (maybe my new kitten, too).

Anyway, enjoy the babies. You know how fast they grow.
Smiles, :)
Gina

The kittens are BEAUTIFUL and so CUTE. Sorry Mom cannot feed them. You have a big job ahead of you -- and how rewarding it will be to watch them grow, knowing you were the "Mom".

Names? Kitten A and Kitten B, for now. Or 120604A and 120604B, the way they will eventually appear in my vet's record.

I'm superstitious -- I never name a kitten until at least 3MO of age... Life is too fragile.
