Hi All,

Sorry it has taken me so long to post on my Drs. appt. But I figured since it wasnt Heart related it wasnt so imprtant. Seen my Drs. PA and she thinks it is just a muscle problems - being very tight in that area (shoulder) and thus causing the pain, as it is better upon waking in the morning but by afternoon is aching completely. If not better by next week she will refer me for PT. For now just heat, IBuProfen and massage.

They do have the results of my Sleep Study and so the only thing teh PA told me was there was recorded Periodic Restless Leg Syndrome - but she didnt say anythng else except to ask if I had f/u soon for results. (Next week Thurs. with my Pulm.) Any one know anything about PRLS? I am going to call tomorrow see if there is any chance of talking to my Pulm. i'll leave her clinic nurse a message.

Also coming down with a cold or something my nose is running and my throat is sore. Grr!!!!!! I can't even get over one thing before another hits. .. Does anyone have any suggestions for cold meds that won't increase heart rate or interact with either of my meds? -- Midodrine and Nadolol.

Blessings to All!!

Erica

Hey Erica,
Glad to hear you got some answers and that they weren't heart related.
As far as the PRLS, my nephew had it and the Dr. told his parents that he would just have to grow out of it. I think he was a jr. in college when he stopped having problems with it.
Sorry to hear you are coming down with a cold now. You might try Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold, it seems to work the best for me.
Take Care

You need to suggest a mri on the shoulder. My cousin had one after complaining to doctor for three weeks. She finally got relief after the doctor finally did mri and found a spur and a torn muscle. She had pain for three weeks. She no relief till then. Good luck and hope you get answers soon. I myself am having trouble with my left shoulder and will bring up to my doctor next month. Take care and keep us updated.

Hi Erica, hope you are feeling better soon! Between the oncoming cold and all the other stuff you have been dealing with, you are entitled to some relief!

There is an excellent site called the Restless leg Syndrome Foundation which can give you lots of information about RLS (restless leg syndrome) and PLMD (periodic limb movement disorder). The Southern California Restless Leg Support Group site is also very good. Sorry to hear you have added that diagnosis. I have it also and it can be most unpleasant and really disrupt your sleep. There is help for it, however. Some docs are not aware of how to help, so you may need to do some research to get the appropriate help if it is bothering you.

Please feel free to pm me if I can help in any way.

could be as simple as adding minerals or a good calcium magnesium supplement.it has been shown in some people that they are deficient in calcium/magnesium. taking a tablet before bed might help. calcium is a natural muscle relaxant.
