I celebrated the first anniversary of my MVR on Thursday 6/24 while at a Cat Fanciers' Association convention in Orlando FL.
Some close friends knew it was the anniversary. On Saturday, I attended a luncheon for Abyssinian breeders. We introduced ourselves, and when I was doing my intro, a friend said, "And you're celebrating a special anniversary!" So I had to say that I had to miss last year's convention because I was in the hospital recovering from heart repair surgery. And that I was very very glad to be there this year. Lots of applause!

I shared the room at one of the Disney resorts with 3 friends, and outdid them. I walked around the property twice Thursday night, again Friday night. Was in the pool at 8 a.m. Saturday, then grabbed oatmeal and walked for 45 minutes. Went walking again Saturday night, in between raindrops. Lots of power walking!

Happy 1st Anniversary

Happy 1st Anniversary

Hey Marsha,
Sounds like you had a good time. Isn't it nice to have that 1st year behind you and the good thing is you will keep getting better. I know I am.
Take Care

Congratulations! I think each anniversary is worth celebrating. Sometimes I have wanted to observe a monthly anniversary in some way. Power walking sounds wonderful!

Marcia, congrats and keep on catting! :D

Ain't life grand? I remember last summer when it was all you could do to go judge a show - and here you are showing everyone up.

Paul:

One of my cat breeder friends will have MVR next week (7/7), hopefully repair, otherwise St. Jude. Several mutual acquaintances were pointing to me as a good example of how fast he will bounce back.
My friend is in much better physical condition than I was 1 week pre-op and his MV problem was diagnosed 30+ years ago. His father took Coumadin for years, so he's acquainted with it and has settled on a St. Jude if repair doesn't work out.

Marsha, it sounds like you have had a great year. Congratulations! :) :)
Let's pray that it just gets better and better. Your cat is beautiful. I love cats.

Congrats on your anniversary! It must be a good feeling to know how the year has progressed, and realize what you can do now, that you couldn't do before.

Best wishes,

Marsha,
Congratulations on your first and many more to come.

Congrats on the one year from the repair. Great that you are doing so much walking. I am doing that also, when tiredness allows, otherwise mostly on the weekends. Great that you did celebrate doing what you love. Keep working hard and walking. Great to get the heart pumping healthy. Take care
