Not sure if you have left for Cleveland yet as I know you have pre-surgery consultations starting tomorrow. I hope with your surgery consult on Thursday that you get satisfactory decisions as to whether they will do the AAA repair as well as the AVR on Friday. You will be at one of the best hospitals and I am sure that you will get good advice and excellent care. Hope you can have someone update us and we look forward to hearing all good news. Godspeed!

Im ready, got everything done at home this weekend, so Im at peace. Thanks for everyones support. Hardest part so far is being away from my kids. Sorry for poor writhing, bad typer from iPhone. I going to get my wife to post, while I'm getting fixed. Hope to write more later. Once again thanks for the support. After surgery is all I can wear is button up's?

Button down shirts, pajama tops or the ones they provide in the hospital will be good for the time you are there and maybe even for a week or so at home.

Best of luck on your upcoming surgery at CCF. I had AVR surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Sept. and believe me they are one of the best hospitals for this surgery...Who is your surgeon?

Look forward to hearing from you on the other side of the mountain....

Best of luck, hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery

Best wishes on a successful surgery and an uncomplicated, easy recovery.
We'll see you on the other side!

Surgeon consultation and tests completed. The surgeon has confirmed that he will do both the AVR and AAA on Friday. So happy! The next question is valve selection, but I will start a new post for that.

Best wishes for your surgery, and for an event-free recovery. Good to hear that your wife will let us know how you are. She really has the hardest role tomorrow!

Here's to an uneventful, even boring, surgery.

Hope your recovery is fast and this is all a blur soon!!

Best to you and good luck ...prayers....for comfort
post when you get back

Hi All, This is Motox-Z's wife. I spoke to the surgeon just an hour ago and the surgery went well. The surgeon said that his valve was not bicuspid as they originally thought, rather unicuspid and severely stenotic. Makes me wonder how they didn't catch that before now. Anyway, he chose a Carpentier-Edwards Pericardial Magna Valve. We are not out of the woods yet, he will be transfered to ICU soon. We really appreciate the support and well wishes from everybody on this forum. It has really been a crucial support system and source of information. I especially want to thank Lionheart for taking the time to meet with my husband. You really helped him, probably more than you know. He couldn't stop talking about your visit. Thank you so much! I will update again after we see how his night goes.
Thanks again everybody!

Thanks for taking the time to post at what I know is a very stressful time. They originally thought Dick's valve was bicuspid too, but it turned out unicuspid and severely stenotic as well. Wishing you both an uneventful recovery. Try to get some sleep tonight as the next few days will be stressful.
