I am scheduled to go into the hospital on Aug.6th to stop my Coumadin and be put on a Heparin drip and surgery is scheduled for Aug.8th...Its time to remove my ovaries and cysts. My cardiologist is really anxious for me to have the surgery and then get my Coumadin level back under control. It has been so low lately (around 1.8)..He says Im at risk for a stroke if I cant get it under control soon.

Its seems like its always one thing or another for me. yes, Im feeling depressed today just thinking about yet another surgery so soon. My cardiologist thinks my heart is steady enough to withstand the surgery.

Please say a prayer for me and my family. Of course it goes without saying my heart problems complicate things and the surgery could have a fatal outcome. Im trying to not think negatively. Im just sick of doctors,hopsitals,ivs,etc.....Sorry to be whining. Im just unloading to all my good friends out there.

Alicia -
Sorry to hear you are facing another surgery. This stuff takes its toll on you for sure. . .physically, mentally, emotionally. . .hang in there. Sometimes when things are going really, REALLY crappy, it makes me happy, because I know that night is darkest before dawn, and since things are so o o o bad, I MUST be close to turning the corner. :)

I will keep you in my prayers.

Melissa

Alicia, I recently had another surgery of a different sort, too - so I can empathize and sympathize with you to the nth degree. I pray that all will go well and that you will be over it quickly. God bless

Hi Alicia,

I'm so sorry about what you are now facing. It is when I am in the very difficult times of life that I feel the Lord's presence the most. When I look back on those times I feel so cared for it can bring tears to my eyes. I will pray for you.

I know you are discouraged and that is OK. I had my ovaries out a few years ago and it took a while getting over it. The thing that surprised me was that my whole lower abdomen was numb for many many months afterwards. I have since found that is very common so if that happens don't be alarmed- it finally goes away.

Your doctor wouldn't suggest this if it wasn't needed. It may make your life permamently less complicated and everything else much easier to manage. You also will finally know what else is going on.

I will definitely hold you up during this time.
God Bless

I'm so sorry you have to have another surgery, Alicia. You've had some rough times. This surgery will eventually improve your health, so if you stay focused on that, you will be fine.

I'll be thinking about you and saying a prayer for a very successful outcome.

God Bless

Surgery Again

Surgery Again

Hi Alicia,

Sorry to hear you have to face this. I had to have a total hysterectomy less than a year after my heart valve surgery, too. Just make sure everyone involved at the hospital knows all about your heart situation and that all the right precautions will be taken. Also, talk to both the gynecologist and cardiologist about whether or not you'll be on hormone therapy afterwards. This has been a great debate for me because the HRT increases the risk of stroke. Don't know if that is such a big deal since you're already on cumodin, but I wasn't. I started on aspririn and am having some problems with that, but not like the coumudin problems other folks have.

Best of luck. You'll be in my prayers.

In my thoughts

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers until you let us know you have come through this ordeal. Try to keep a positive attitude.

Take care,

Hi Alicia - Another surgery is a bummer for you kiddo, but you'll do fine and you have a bunch of people caring and praying for you. Just think how good you're gonna feel after you get all healed up. Let us know how you are doing. Chris

Hi Alicia, so sorry to hear that you have to have another surgery....not something that anyone of us wants to go through. It sounds as though your cardio is on top of monitoring you and hopefully you have confidence in your surgeon. As someone else said, they wouldn't suggest it if it didn't need to be done. I'll be sending positive thoughts your way.

Thanks for everyones great and supportive responses. Its so nice to know that I have friends among you all!!! This has been such a difficult time. As you all may rememeber I had my MV replaced in Jan this year and in April I found out my husband had been having an affir for the past 5 years. I have now lost 40# and my heart seems to be doing good all things considered. My husband and I are trying to work thru things. I can forgive him, I just cant forget. Does it get any easier? Life is really tough sometimes. Best wishes to all.
