It seems that every since I started visiting this site I have done nothing but complain. I actually found this site looking for answers to the chest pain I have had for a year. Yesterday I finally got the answer I had been looking for but it was not what I expected at all. I had an echocardiogram done last week. We got the results back yesterday. My cardiologist is saying that I have Pulmonary Stenosis again. This is the grafted valve that I had replaced in August of 2001, along with my Aortic valve and the repair of a Pulmonary artery anuerysm. My aortic valve is mechanical and looks fine, but the pressure gradient across the Pulmonary valve is 70 which is twice what it was when it was reccomended that I have surgery the first time. This diagnosis explains the cough that I have had and possibly the pain too. The thought of having surgery again is a lot more tha I can process at this point. According to my dr. it is not if I need surgery but when.

complaints, info, experience, support - that's what the site is about.

I am so sorry to hear this news. There are others who have had second, and even third surgeries and they will be along to share their experiences. Think Nancy's Joe may have had more than one. Nancy?

You are in my prayers. God bless

Hi Lettitia,

The beauty of this site 'family' is for that purposes Hensylee mentioned. Plus much much more. Gosh, for two years I sounded like a broken record of complaints. You all still stuck by me. ;)

We will be praying for you!

Take care.

I know the concern you are feeling right now. I have been through it 4 times. Please take comfort in the fact that there are some of us that have had multi heart surgeries and survived them. It is not something that you want to go through (who would) but if it means your life or quality of life then you must go there. The first one is the most difficult. Now you will be going somewhere you have been before. You know what to expect. I will keep you in my prayers. Remember that there are host of heart friends right here when you need us. We care. Lettitia you know us all by now and know that we are the complaints department also. I'm so sorry to hear of the news and after everything I've been through, I can't say as I blame you for your feelings. Pull yourself together as best you can and deal with the situation head on. I know it's much easier said then done. I just want you to know that I'm holding you in prayer and thought. This too shall pass. ;)

I understand that I will get throughsurgery

I understand that I will get throughsurgery

The thing that bothers me is being away from my students for such an extended time. If it is decided that I can't until summer.
This means that I have to turn my students over to a sub for the remainder of this year. Just for those who don't know I am highly protective of my students. I will feel like I am abandoning them

Don't I remember reading something from one of our members
about problems occuring with Cryolife tissue valve grafts.

If I am close to correct please tell my where to find the information

We need more teachers in our schools like you. My daughter-in-law is climbing the walls. She gave birth thru C/S. Dec. 18th..She wants to get back to her kids too. I think she has one more week. She teaches 6th grade math..Ugg. My grandson will be in the 6th grade at her school next Fall. He says, thank goodness I won't have Jen-Jen ( his step-mom) She posts his chores every week on the Kitchen wall..don't think it is allowed to teach your child. LOL..By the time everything is set up for you..plus Spring Break, Easter. I am sure you will be close to the end of the school year. Just remember, you will feel soooooo good by next new school year in the Fall. A lot of parents do not realize how much out of pocket money that teachers have to spend of their own..Don't you worry. We are here for you. Bonnie:) :) :)

Hi L

I'm so sorry to hear your news.....Remember, though, you have to do what is best for YOU!!!! Kids are resilient, they'll survive....they may not be happy, but they'll survive. This way they'll appreciate you all the more when you get back.

I will put you in my prayers.

Evelyn

Thank you

Thank you

Thank you all for the encouragement. I know I will probably be fine after my surgery. I just wonder how I am going to tell my father about this. He is in Pakistan and will be gone for an indefinite period of time. This is not exactly something I can tell him over a GPS phone up link. I know what he is doing is very important but sometimes I would like for him to put his only daughter ahead of national security HA!! HA!! Even though I do think that occassionally, I would never put him in a position to have to chose. Be for anyone asks my father is a retired Air Force General who now works for the National Security Agency. Yes, I realize that he does not know the meaning of being retired.
