I had to post this picture. My husband and daughter went out yesterday to buy our Christmas tree. Now, we usually get tall trees because we have a vaulted ceiling in our family room, but they came back with this monstrosity. I laughed so hard I nearly had an accident. I keep expecting squirrels to jump out of it. My sister doesn't call Glenn "Clark Griswald" for no good reason. Glenn is 6'3", if that gives you an idea of the size of this puppy!

Are you sure he didn't steal that from Rockefeller Center, Karylnn?:D It's beautiful- enjoy!

I have to go buy more ornaments first! I don't have enough to cover this rascal!

15 X 6 or so? That is a BIIIIG tree. A pretty one too. Hey, it's good to do something wild every now and then, huh? Are you going to post the finished product?

Are you sure you didn't take it out of the center square of your downtown?? It's gigantic!!!

Recently, here in Oregon, a woman brought a bat into the house in hers. Keep you eyes on the rafters!! ;)

Enjoy! It's a beauty!

Wow. That is one great tree. Where did they find such a nice one Karlynn? Bet your cat will love it;)

I was up near Lake Zurich/N. Barrington. Took a wrong turn just off rt. 12. To my amazement...there was a cut your own tree place in middle of a little residential area! Will keep that in mind for the future!

You can cover your tree in pretty fabric ribbon to fill the gaps. Sam's or Costco should have that in bulk right now. Have resorted to that method in the past. Never had a tree that wide ! We did have a 15' tall pencil tree for a number of years. I do miss our volume ceilings!

Hate to be a Scrooge here BUT can I borrow the picture for my next safety meeting on how NOT to use a step ladder!!!!!!!! Glad Glenn survived the "topping out".

If your tree gets any bigger, you gonna need to rent a bucket truck to decorate. When they start recommending making a hole in the ceiling, watch out!!!!!!

Merry Christmas and,

May God Bless,

Danny :)

One year we got a beautiful (skinnier) tree. Brought it home, put it in the stand, realized it had a trunk like a cork screw. You'd be proud Danny, we hung it from the beam. :D I'm goning to get really worried if the car goes up on blocks in the front yard.

Gina, I think they said they bought it from Gambino Landscaping that just had a little tree lot set up.

My sister calls Glenn "Clark Griswold" and now you know why.

Y'all would fit in just right down cheer.:p Cinder Blocks aur cheaper than jack stan`s. Got any empty Bud Cans fer decoration????? Big as dat tree is yew could use KEGS!!!!!!:p :p

Fourty watt bulbs shud be about right. Y'all got it in a 55 gallon drum???:D

May God Bless,

Bubba :D

Karlynn - I have always wanted a big tree but our ceilings in the past wouldn't allow it. We have just built a new house and it also has vaulted ceilings in the living room. I sent my 3 boys and husband out to get the tree this year and they came back with a 15 footer but skinnier. I looks great. Yours does also. Enjoy the Christmas season and the tree!!

Karlynn,

How in the world did your husband and daughter get the tree home? Did they have to rent a logging truck :D :D :D ? It is a beautiful tree. I bet this one "tops" any tree you have had in the past :).

tree, that's for sure. :) It is beautiful. Looks like you plucked it off a mountainside here in Colorado. Enjoy the fresh pine smell - I miss the smell of a real Christmas tree - we have an artificial tree - so I can put it up the first weekend in November (truly) and don't have to worry about it drying out. :)

Karlynn, one question. Did the windows blow out when you all untied the string around the tree after bringing it into the family room?:D As you can see, I'm a real fan of the movie Christmas Vacation. LINDA Also, are your fingers sticky after decorating it?
