Hi everyone!

Just a quick update on my mom. She had that long surgery Wednesday afternoon and was in ICU after that. We finally got her off the vent on Saturday afternoon -- was she relieved at that! Then Sunday afternoon they determined that she is stable enough and doing well enough to be moved into a regular room on the surgical recovery floor! It will be a long and slow recovery, and I keep reminding her that this is OK, as long as she continues to improve.

Thank all of you for your support and prayers. It really does a lot to help.

As with our heart surgeries, make sure she doesn't try to overdo and don't let her get depressed on the slow recovery. Remind her to focus on one day at a time.

Thanks for the update and I continue to think and pray for you.

Steve - after my recent abdominal surgery with removal of one of those 'aliens', I asked the surgeon how long for recovery. He said 'you have had major surgery - at least six months'. That's about the same thing my cardio said after quad bypass. I had no idea that the abdominal was that major, so tell your mom major means rest a whole heap, take lots of naps - well, you had MAJOR so you know the routine to tell her. I am so glad she's coming around. Bless her and give her my hugs. Ann

REST is the word of the day.

that is such good news that your mother is doing better. as all others have said, please tell her to take it easy and rally rest up. her body must need it after going through all that.
she is still in our thoughts and prayers.
