Ever since my mom's failed surgery at St Peter's she hasn't been the same. I had to rush her to the hospital yesterday because of dizzy spells when she tried to stand up, this happened 3 times and I called her surgeon's office, they told me to either take her in to see her cardiologist or take her to the ER so needless to say my Mom would rather go to her cardiologist office but when I called there they told me that her Doctor was not in so I asked them if she could see his partner and they told me that they don't cross exchange patients (Very funny since they are ASSOCIATES) !! Oh well so I took her to our local ER. When she got out of the car in front of the hospital she nearly fainted again.. (something my mom never had before that v-fib happened in the OR. Last night the the nurse called me and said that my mom needed to go to the bathroom and when she got up her heartrate jumped from 87 to 140 so now they are going to adjust her medications, mabe it's that new medication "amioderon" she is taking? God knows, but honestly I don't think she is ready to go back to surgery this Thursday I will talk to the docs later and she what they think I will keep you all informed..

Hugs Carolyn

My prayers are with you and your mom. I hope they find an answer.

Prayingyou get some answers today and that it is the simple adjustment of medication. We know how stressful this all is and wish you the best.

I am sorry to hear of your mom's problems. I hope it is a medication adjustment and that eventually she will get her surgery and all will be well.

we have many discussions about amiodarone here in Vr. Type it in 'search' above to find them. You might want to go to Google, type in amiodarone and you will find many sites about it. Then you might want to discuss it with her cardiologist. There are other meds for a-fib. You might get him to change.

I am so sorry to hear about her dizziness - it's awful when your mother needs you and you can't help except to get her to someone else. I hope and pray that you will find answers that you need to help her get well again. Blessins....
