Hi, I am experiencing , Just out of the blue, maybe once in a month or two moths if i under go strees or strain or under chill weather I will be missing my heart beat .I checked with my surgen.He said it happens to Normal people also. Iam not worried much after that. Any body feeling the same? Respond please

13/6/2008 2D Echo Diagnosed Ascending Aortic Dissection ,Bicuspid aortic valve, Moderate AR at the age of 38(2008)
9/6/08 CT scan shows Aneurysmal dilation of aortic root and ascending aorta with dissection extending upto brachio cephalic trunk and mild aneurysm
16/07/08 Operative findings & repair. Aortic aneurysm approx size 10 cms diameter.Aneurysm extd upto 1c m from innomiate artery. Mod. Bental DC Bono surgery procedure done to repair my anueuysm with#25 mm St.Jude medical valved conduit(SN 84094003.REF25CAVGJ-51400 AOROTIC VALVED GRAFT) At CARE Hospital Bangara Hills,Hyderabad,India. Surgeon: Dr K.s. Neelakandan gave me re birth! Dr . Sridar,Dr.Amreesh, Dr.Jagannatham completed the formalities.
 
It sounds like you are having PVCs or PACs (premature ventricular contractions or premature atrial contractions). They feel like a skipped beat, but really what happens is that right after a normal beat there is an extra beat that does not come from the sinus node. It comes so fast after the normal beat that it is not felt. Then, because there have been two beats, there is a sort of a pause and then another normal beat.

If that is what you are having, it is very common even with people who have no heart problems.
 
Thank u Adrienne,What u expressed is right.After 8 months of surgery My surgen visited home along with his wife.When i told about missing beat,he told immediatly it is happening to my wife who is not heart patient and it is very common dont worry. SRINIVAS
 
It is just like Adrienne said: PAC's and PVC's. Not harmless, just VERY annoying and a lot of us suffer from it. I get on average about 18 of those skipped beats per minute. Not even Ablation (treated PSVT) could cure it!
