Well, here on VR.com, we tend to use the term, "myxomatous" to refer to abnormal tissues of the valves, usually mitral or aortic, or related arteries, notably the ascending aorta. I personally think of "myxomatous" tissue as being floppy. According to Dorland's Medical Dictionary(http://www.mercksource.com/pp/us/cn...zdorlandszSzdorlandzSzdmd_d_05zPzhtm#10060869) MYXOMATOS DEGENERATION is degeneration in which mucus accumulates in connective tissues.
To find more information about myxomatos degeneration specific to one's own situation, I would search Dorlands or PubMed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=Pager&DB=pubmed) starting with "myxomatos __________" where the blank represents your valve or artery or whatever. "Myxomatos degeneration" or "myxomatos tissue" bring up a broad range of info from uterine cysts to doggie hearts.
