Everyone please have a safe one if you are on the roads...Son (Policeman) says for everyone to have their Insurance cards, license, ready for many checkpoints.. :D We are staying home and having everyone up here Sat. for a cookout by our lake, fishing, ect..and then pool in afternoon. Weatherman says we sure have a beautiful weekend. :) What's everyone else doing? Bonnie

Well, Gee Bonnie,
I wish I could travel that far. We would just wander down "thar" and help you eat, drink, and swim! :D :D :D :D
We're headed to S. Illinois one of the days, and then I'm just going to lay around and enjoy my second most favorite holiday of the year! I love Memorial Day!

I am going out of town for Sat and Sunday...

I am going out of town for Sat and Sunday...

I am going up to my mother's for her 61st birthday cookout and to celebrate Memorial Day early, so I won't be on chat on Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone! Harrybaby666 :D :D :D

And a note also for eveyone to be sure to buckle up. In Missouri and Kansas, they are ticketing everyone pulled over and not wearing a seatbelt. Be safe all. Have fun. My brother will do the barbeque. I will be relaxing for the most part. Have a great weekend all.

Driving to North Carolina to visit my brother. Hopefully I won't hit too much traffic since I will be driving at night.

Have fun all.

this is one of the most dangerous (for driving) weekends. Our police have been on watch all week. Last night they had a watch by the local bar (we have only one that's well populated, thankfully). Yesterday when daughter was driving home there was a truck speeding past her and cutting in, sped past the next one in front of him and cut in again. This is the sort of thing that causes so many accidents so y'all please watch out for the other guy - and be careful, yourselves. I am only going off to take bro to hosp for INR today and then back home. Daughter taking today and Monday off to enjoy the weekend and do honeydo things (she's the only honey around here); we have great grandson visiting from across town til Tuesday, so we're busy. I am missing a family reunion, but it's up yonder and I don't want to drive that far. Have a happy and safe one.......

Thank God For Cruise Control!!!

I know what you mean Hensy, the police up here really get out and monitor on this weekend since it is a big money maker for tickets and such. Fortunately, I am leaving after the big Memorial Day Rush, and then coming back before the big drive home over the weekend, and like I said, thank god for cruise control as I know I will have to really watch my lead foot. LOL Harrybaby
  :D :D

Old bad joke:

The cops are watching this bar at closing time, and as the patrons leave one patron staggars over to his car, fumbles with his keys, and finally lurches into the car. After having some trouble getting it started, he stalls the car a couple of times before finally getting it on the road. The cops immediately pull him over, only to find that he is as sober as a judge. They ask him what his story is, and he replies, "Oh, I'm the Designated Decoy."

I generally try to avoid travel on long weekends if only because of the traffic if not because of the drunks. I also never go out on New Years eve because of the drunks.

Actually, the drunks are only part of it. The other is that I take deep offense at DUI checkpoints. I wonder what a Revolutionary soldier would say, coming back from having secured our liberties from the British, upon being randomly stopped at a roadblock by government agents and asked whether he is committing a crime and then checked to see whether or not he is.

I am on call all weekend and if its anything like last year I will be on my computer most of the weekend(I work for the County Government). I will have my beeper by the pool. The only thing is I can't drink Margaritas with the rest of the group because I may have a problem I actually have to drive into work for. Everyone have a safe and happy Memorial Weekend.

I guess that means....

I will come back "Unleaded"? LOL. I will be sure and take it extra careful on general principal, thanks for the encouragement Mary. Harrybaby666 :D :D :D :D :D

I'm going up to my hometown (Vincennes, IN) to hang out with my family; plus we have a cool Revolutionary War reenactment there that draws thousands. Great food and excellent battle demonstrations, music, and some of the best period food that you can imagine.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone, and be safe. :) :)
