I have Afib and severe mitral valve regurgitation. I am taking coumadin, toprol, and diovan. I use an inhale rfor asthma(flovent).I am getting chest congestion. The weather keeps going from very warm to quite cool. It aggravates my sinuses and the sinus drip seems to settle in my chest. When this happens sometimes I end up with bronchitis. I have zyrtec, and allergy medication. Last year at this time, as soon as this sinus mess started. I took the zyrtec a few times. It dried up the sinuses and kept the chest congestion in check. I forgot to ask the doctor if it was okay to take this. This weekend I only started feeling this problem coming on after the doctor's office was closed for the holiday. I was wondering if it would be safe to take it.Or should I wait for tomorrow when I can ask the doctor?

Ask your pharmacist. This is his or her area of intense professional expertise. Most drug stores are open today. They are actually more knowledgeable regarding drug interactions than most responses you will get from the doctor's office.

This is a tremendous and often overlooked information resource for those on multiple medications.

Best wishes,
