who needs cash? i just got online and got me a one-year interest free credit card with
a $15K limit. only have to pay the minimum.....2% or $20 per month, whichever is
lower....until next year. by that time anything could happen, like my investments
coming back from the 7th level of hell.

I'd no idea operations cost so much, even these bargain basement ones !? We grumble about the NHS here in the Uk but atleast we never have to worry about insurance or huge sums of money to keep us alive when we need surgery.

Thanks for sharing, Debby. While I was doing my research on hospitals and doctors, I had pop ups about lots of Americans travelling abroad because it is cheaper and were willing to pay in cash! but not one pop up was about such facilities within the US.

A friend is an RN in the OR at a hospital about 45 miles west of Fort Worth TX. The hospital is small and not all procedures are done there (such as cardiac). She says that some of the surgeons choose to go south to Stephenville TX or east to Weatherford because insurance carriers pay more for the same procedure at hospitals in those towns.
