Figured the guilty one

Figured the guilty one

would poke his head out first.:p :p You know you need one and have been putting it off like cleaning your carpets.:D :D :D The first thing the EMT'S look for is a medical ID..You need to put I take Coumadin on it.. Mother- Hen Cluck-Cluck:D :D

But I have a BIG medical I.D. from my throat down to my belly button. All they gotta do is listen with a stethoscope and they'll hear the hamsters opening and closing the valve. This oxygen tube in my face is another dead give away. :D

Just admit

Just admit

You are a procrastinator:p :p :p And yes, I had to look it up in the dictionary to spell it.   O.K. folks..tell Ross how many of us wear one..:D :D :D Bonnie

hey ross and others

hey ross and others

My hx is extensive ehough that a medal can't hold it all. So...I made one for my wallet and put it in with my pacer card and valve card. I used medical abreviations and 5pt font for space. I also printed another card in red print 20pt and labled the out side of my wallet. When I listed my meds I put coumadin in red.

Have to admit Bonnie, it was one of the first things
I did when I got home from the hospital.
Sent for a necklace with the info on it.
Sorry Ross.

Hey Ross, that big scar on your chest could mean any number of things, many (most?) of which you wouldn't necessarily be taking Coumadin for. My Dear Daddy has a scar that looks just like mine, and he doesn't take Coumadin. Why keep 'em guessing in a time of crisis (after they cut you out of the car with the jaws of life on a busy Interstate?). My history is longish, too but mine just says "Takes Coumadin for Valve Implants, Please call immediately."

We care 'bout you, ya know

Why not have one

Why not have one

when you can con your spouse into getting 14K???:D :D :D

I figured that if I had to take the stuff (coumadin) the LEAST I could do was spend as much as I could.

And my cardiac surgeon had 2 pieces of advice for me when he cut me loose: take charge of your inr levels; and get and wear a medic-alert bracelet.

I'm sorry too, Ross.;)

I'm with granbonny, get a medical alert id necklace/bracelet, it's usually very noisy at an accident scene, ER, even at home with EMTs, paramedics and police, they might not hear those little hamster working real hard, or the timex watch as I call it.

The scar could be from bypass surgery for all they know, or if you live in the inner city a battle wound???

I'm with the rest, get the ID

Oh alright, I have an attitude problem, but it's just a little one. :D

I know I need to get one. I keep running out of money before I get to order one though. It seems that current outgoing
expense's exceed the incoming money. I'll see if I can't make that a priority thing for next payday.

On the count of 3

On the count of 3

Everyone throw sticks and stones and rocks at the moderator. One..two..three...:p :p :p :p :p :p :p or better. Ros Just ink across forehead. I take Coumadin:p :D :D Bonnie

MIne says 'aortic valve replaced, takes coumadin'
and I really didn't want to wear one, but, in earthquake country and living near a major fault, I did talk myself into it. Now, I realize I am ID'd even when I walk the dog, and previously used to go out with no ID at all. so it's a good thing. The only drawback to the bracelet is it moves up on the arm and gets stuck there at night. I am pushing it down alot.
I covet a real gold one, but am cheap and got the gold filled.
Ross, you are a funny guy, I always get a laugh out of something you post!

There are several Medical ID manufacturers.

MEDIC ALERT maintains a registry with the medical information you supply and has an 800 number that any medical provider can call to get your information. You can update the information free anytime you wish. There is a modest annual fee for this service. The stainless steel version is the least expensive. I chose a necklace which can be insulated from your body by a T shirt or whatever since I dislike thing on my wrist, even a watch.

Medic Alert also has a website for more information, including registration.
