I wasnt sure were to post this, but I wanted to know if anyone had a titanium bracelet, and how long they last, I have Stainless Steel one and it scratches very easily.

Thanks< Mike

I don't have titanium, but it's the strongest alloy known, so it should well last a lifetime and then some.

Mike I wouldn't go out and buy a titanium bracelet. I have a titanium watch and band and the band has scratched just as stainless steel does. Titanium is very strong but isn't scratch free. It is lite though. :)

Titanium

Titanium

I have had a titanium wedding ring for a couple of years and it definitely scratches just like any other metal.

It's just lighter and stronger in regards to bending and breaking. That's why they make fighter planes with it.

I don't see that it would be worth getting a bracelet made out of titanium if it costs a lot more..

I just went to the jewelers' and bought a wonderful design bracelet made of
stainless steel and rubber, and made engrave "on coumadin" on a discreet flat part.
If it scratches,as it is cheap, I dump it and buy another one!:)

Thanks for all the replys, I guess what I should of asked is how the lettering would hold up on the titanium, I do realize that it scratches alot since I have a titanium watch and a titanium wedding band. And I guess I asking moreless is worth the $90 for it.

I have engraved on my current one:

Michael P Buchter
Home Phone
Coumadin Therapy
St Jude Mechanical Heart Valve

Does anyone know where I can get a medical alert insignia? (odd request right?)

The thing is, I already wear a silver bracelet and I don't want to wear another one. I'd like to get the one I have engraved with "on coumadin" or something of that sort, but I want a medical professional to realize that the bracelet actually has that information on it -- thus the need for the little "medical alert" sign...maybe one I can have sodered on there. Does anyone sell these?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe:

I have had a similar thought. I really dislike the asthetic appearance of silver toned jewelry on my skin--always have. And yet, since I'm in the waiting room and the engraving will change after I'm out of the waiting room, I don't want to spend the money a "temporary" gold bracelet would cost. Plus I have a great little gold bracelet my kids gave me for Mother's Day last year that I'd love to wear all the time. I was thinking that once I've traveled "the mountain" I'll buy a gold bracelet (or just the tag part, if possible) and have a jeweler incorporate it into the Mother's Day bracelet. You could probably have a hybrid made of the bracelet you already wear and a new one (or just the tag, if you can find it). For now I live with the yucky stainless one.

Good luck!

It will be made today (before the big game of course:D ) and out to you in the A.M. It will also be one of a kind. Thanks for your response as I think if more ppl saw how neat the tags can look than maybe they would wear it. Who knows?.....not I! Have a tickin day

I think that is so nice of you. I've made a few bracelets and know how much the components cost. You are a good person, Lyn

Hi Lyn and Thank You! Only 1 yes 1 person has taken me up on the offer. Looks like I will have to beg them to wear it. HA!!!

How nice!

How nice!

How nice of you to make a bracelet for anyone! I just ordered one from medic alert. You pay them 35$ the first year and 20$ a year for every year after and they will keep your entire medical record and when someone calls the number, they automatically call your emergency contact. This provides piece of mind for my husband since he travels alot. I got a bracelet that has pink insignia and beads. I was thinking that I could learn to make the beaded part in different colors to match my different dress cloths for work. On the web site they also sell a medic alert flash drive keychain. The keychain says medic alert and can hold all of your medical information and can be plugged in to any computer that has a usb port to be read. This is awesome for someone like Ross or others with a significant history.www.medicalert.comI believe this is thew correct website.
