I am most pleased to let all of you know that Marguerite's surgery for replacement of her aortic valve went very well this morning. We are thrilled.

The surgeon was quite positive about her condition in the post-operative conference. He said that he did not see any enlargement of the heart; that he put in the bovine valve that Marguerite requested; and that he thought she was good for a good long go with her newly repaired heart.

As the day progressed with her recovery in ICU, she was taken off the respirator. When we kissed her good night this evening, the nurse told me that her heart was "rockin'," and that her vitals looked fabulous. She was heavily sedated, but resting comfortably. And she knew who we were.

Bottom line: so far, so good. We're taking things a day at a time. And tonight we feel very fortunate and are most thankful to her doctors, nurses, friends, and all of you who participate in this forum who have been so supportive, informative, and kind to her.

You should be hearing directly from her a little later this week.

Best regards,

Paul

Paul -- GREAT AND "BORING" NEWS. (she'll know the cliche)

Give her a big kiss from all of us here and tell her we anxiously await her boring report.

Yes! You can't see the high 5s or the fist pumping in the air but they are there. Can we do a body wave? Ready 1,2,3, go!
We are very happy to here that all is well.
Philip
